Description

This is an eight class, Beginner’s Level Course in the Art of Reading Tarot.

To effectively interpret the imagery of the Tarot, it is necessary to understand where the Tarot originated and its transformation from game to an extensive source of esoteric knowledge and system of divination. While there are many Tarot decks available today, this course will cover the more traditional symbolism of the Rider-Waite Tarot, along with the Golden Dawn Magickal Tarot and the Thoth Tarot for their extensive Qabalistic symbology.

We will begin with the history of the Tarot, and then proceed to cover each of the 78 cards of the standard Tarot deck. During the last class, we will cover several simple divination spreads and learn about a few other ways the cards may be used. By the end of the course, students will have gained a large corpus of knowledge with which to begin the real work of the Tarot: Divination.
